■ 신문에 게재되는 글이라는 특성상 내용의 유용함은 물론 원문의 단어, 문장 하나하나까지도 원어민 에디터들의 철저한 감수 등, 검증 과정을 거치므로 그만큼 신뢰할 수 있다.

■ ‘ 리딩 스펙트럼’은 인문·사회과학·과학·기술 및 문화·예술 분야 관련 내용을 모두 4권의 책으로 나눠 실었는데, 각 권에 해당 영역에 따른 각기 다른 주제로 된 원문 80개씩을 수록하여 다뤘다.

■ 또한 원활한 학습을 돕기 위해서 매 지문(원문)의 어휘해설, 해석은 물론, 중요 구문과 각 문제별 해설도 다뤘다. 특히, 각각의 지문에 추론 문제를 넣어 생각하는 힘과 글 속에 담긴 뜻을 정확히 파악하는 연습도 되도록 했다. (문제 난이도는 수능보다 좀 더 어려운데 공무원·편입·토플 중위권 정도의 수준임)

■ 학습의 편의성, 효율성을 위하여 각 권에 원문(지문), 문제, 어휘 및 중요 구문 해설은 본 책에, 정답 을 포함한 원문 해석·문제 해설은 별책에 각각 나눠 실었다.

■ 이 밖에 이 책을 독해 연습용으로 일차 사용한 후 원문 해석 부분을 원문(지문)과 비교하면서 작문 을 시도해보면 아주 좋은 영작 연습이 될 것이다.
